Tyma helps you manage your time: your calendar, your meetings, your tasks and your team's availability.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Tyma ("Tyma", "we", "us" or "our"), and govern your use of the Tyma website and app.

By creating an account or using Tyma, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Tyma.

1. About Tyma

Tyma is operated from Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Our contact details are in section 15.

2. Who can use Tyma

Tyma is for everybody. Everyone has a schedule — a student, a trader, a nurse on shifts, a parent running a household — and there is no age limit on using this.

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. You get the same Tyma as every other user.

If you are using Tyma on behalf of an organization — a team, a business, a school — you are confirming that you are allowed to agree to these Terms for that organization.

3. Your account

You need an account for most of Tyma. When you create one, please give accurate details and keep your password to yourself.

You are responsible for what happens through your account. If someone gets into it, tell us as soon as you can and we will help you shut it down.

You are not responsible for unauthorized access caused by a security failure on our side.

4. Our service

Tyma shows you your schedule, alerts you to clashes, finds times when people are free, and sends reminders. We work hard to keep this accurate and reliable, but please note:

  • Availability and conflict detection are based on the calendars and events connected to Tyma.
  • Calendars connected from other services sync periodically, so very recent changes may take a short time to appear.
  • Notifications are delivered through your device, browser, email provider and network, and may occasionally be delayed.
  • Times are shown in the time zone set on your profile, so please keep it up to date.
  • Public holidays come from published lists. Holidays that depend on the moon are shown as *expected* until an organization confirms them.
  • Without a connection, Tyma shows the pages last saved on your device, and changes can be made once you are back online.

For important appointments, such as flights, court dates or medical appointments, we recommend also confirming with the original source.

5. Organizations

You can create or join an organization in Tyma to coordinate with other people.

Whoever creates an organization administers it, and can invite and remove members, set roles and permissions, manage teams and shared calendars, and change organization settings.

Admins can also make a member the lead of a team, who can then manage that team and the teams inside it, and can give a membership an end date, after which that person's access stops on its own. Changes to the organization's shared settings are kept in a history that admins can read. The Privacy Policy says exactly what it records and what it never does.

Depending on how an organization is set up, other members may be able to see your availability, the events you are part of, and your profile. If you are joining an organization run by your employer or your school, ask them what they have configured before you put anything private into it.

If you administer an organization, that comes with obligations: invite only people who should be there, give them only the access they need, remove people who leave, and follow the employment and data-protection laws that apply to you. Each organization is responsible for how it configures and uses Tyma.

Where an organization decides what personal data goes into Tyma and why, that organization is the data controller for it and Tyma processes it on their behalf. Our [Data Processing Agreement](/dpa) sets out the terms on which that processing happens, and it forms part of this agreement for every organization.

6. Your content

Whatever you put into Tyma — event titles, descriptions, notes, your profile, your picture — stays yours.

To actually run the product, Tyma needs permission to store that content, move it between your devices, show it back to you, show it to the people you have shared it with, and back it up. You give us that permission, and only for those purposes. It ends when you delete the content, apart from copies sitting in backups, which are overwritten on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train AI models. Section 7 says exactly what the AI features do.

If you send us a suggestion or a feature request, we may act on it without owing you anything for it. That is about ideas, not about your content.

7. AI features

Some features of Tyma are powered by AI, including the morning message, your fortnightly review, drafting a meeting from a sentence, suggesting times for your work and finding the asks in meeting notes.

You stay in control. AI suggestions are presented for your review. Nothing is added to your calendar, and nobody is asked for anything, without your approval.

Please review AI content. AI-generated content may not always be accurate and is not professional advice. Please check it before you rely on it.

Meeting notes and recordings. Meeting notes can be read by the other people in that meeting. If you paste the transcript of a recorded meeting into Tyma, you are responsible for having told the people in it that it was recorded, and for having any consent the law requires.

These features use Google's Gemini API. Section 4 of the Privacy Policy explains what information is shared and how it is protected. The morning message can be turned off under Settings → Notifications.

8. Connected calendars

You can connect a Google Calendar to Tyma.

That connection is read-only. Tyma asks Google only for permission to read your calendars, so Tyma never adds, changes or deletes events in them.

If you turn on Tyma calendar, you also let Tyma create one calendar called "Tyma" in your Google account and keep it up to date. Tyma writes only to that calendar. Treat it as a copy: make changes in Tyma, because edits made to it in Google are replaced. Turning it off deletes it from Google.

You can also make a private calendar link to add Tyma to any calendar app. Anyone who has the link can see your Tyma events, so keep it to yourself; you can replace it or turn it off at any time. Calendar apps check a link on their own schedule, so what they show can be hours behind Tyma.

If you connect a Trello board, Tyma reads the cards assigned to you and never writes to the board.

You can disconnect a calendar at any time in settings. Disconnecting stops any further reading straight away. Events already copied into Tyma stay until you delete them or your account.

We are not responsible for outages, errors or changes at Google or any other third-party service.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use Tyma to break the law, to harass or harm anyone, to impersonate someone, to get into an account that is not yours, to probe or bypass its security, to spread malware, to send spam, to scrape it in bulk, or to overload it.

If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you first.

10. What Tyma costs

Tyma is free. There are no paid plans, no subscriptions and no card details to give.

If that ever changes, you will be told well before it does, nothing will start charging you automatically, and anything you have already put into Tyma will remain yours to export and take with you.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using Tyma whenever you like.

To delete your account, go to Settings → Your data, where you can also download a copy of your data first. You can also email us at the address in section 15. Deleting your account removes it and its content at once; copies in backups are overwritten within 30 days, as set out under retention in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously break these Terms, if your use puts other people or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is practical, you will get notice and a chance to get your data out.

When an account ends, its events and content go with it. Content that belongs to an organization stays with the organization, and so does its history of changes, with your name taken off the entries you made.

If we ever discontinue Tyma, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

12. Liability

Tyma is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed meetings, undetected clashes, delayed or undelivered reminders, lost time, lost business, or data lost through a failure of a third-party service.

Our total liability to you for anything arising out of your use of Tyma is limited to ₦50,000.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any consumer right that cannot be waived.

13. If something goes wrong between us

If you have a concern, please contact us first. Most issues can be resolved quickly by email.

If a dispute cannot be resolved, this agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes go to the courts of Rivers State, Nigeria. If you are a consumer somewhere with laws that give you the right to bring a claim closer to home, this does not take that right away.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page.

By continuing to use Tyma after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can close your account as described in section 11.
